Will I Get Wet? >> No.  There is a waterproof nylon barrier between you and the water jets.  It is a thin layer, so you will get all the benefits of the water pressure, but it does keep you from getting wet.

How Much Does Aqua Massage Cost? >>Aqua massage is actually a very affordable massage option.  The cost for a 10-minute massage is $25, 15 minutes for $35, 20 minutes for $45.  Discounts are available when multiple minute packages are purchased.  You can enjoy an Aqua Massage once a week for the same price or less than one monthly appointment with a massage therapist (typically $55 - $150).

How Much Does An Aqua Massage Machine Model Bed Cost? >> VAAM COSTS: Aqua Massage Machine Bed cost varies depending on the model, its features and amenities that you select for add on. How much time do I need to set aside? >> Not very much!  Aqua Massage maximizes your time, since you don’t have to change or undress!  A good length of time for your Aqua Massage experience is 10-20 minutes.  A 15-minute Aqua Massage is roughly equivalent to a 3- minute massage with a massage therapist.  A 20-minute Aqua Massage is equivalent of a (1) hour hands-on massage. Call for an appointment, so you can just walk right in whenever you feel the need for a massage; no waiting weeks or days for relief.

How often should I get an Aqua Massage? >> Ideally, once every week or two would be best!  This will keep your muscles, as well as your mind, relaxed.  Your muscles will not have a chance to become too tight, tense or sore between massages.  You can even come in more often if you are working on a specific injury or problem area.  But, remember you can stop in again anytime, Virginia Aqua Massage will be here for you.

Can I adjust my Aqua Massage to my specific body needs? >> Yes!  That’s the greatest feature of Virginia Aqua Massage’s Services—PERSONALIZATION with the PROFILER!  There are many different intensity levels that can be programmed into the machine.  VAAM can design a specific massage profile to suit your body’s preferences and adjust it according to your healing needs. You can receive a light, gentle massage up to a very intense pressure for those of you who really have knots in your shoulders, back or neck!

VAAM staff can even adjust the pressure for different sections of your body.  For example, if you really need to work on your lower back, but are a little more sensitive to the same amount of pressure everywhere else on your body, the Aqua Massage machine can be programmed to suit your requirements.  If you want to focus the massage on a certain spot, the machine can be paused any time you choose.  You will have a control in your hand which allows you to pause the machine yourself whenever you want to.

How does Aqua Massage compare to a massage from a massage therapist? >> One of the main differences in the two types of massage is that Aqua Massage provides a full body warm water massage with your clothes on, throughout the duration of the massage rather than focusing on one part of the body for a few minutes, then moving on to another part of the body. One of the benefits of the full body massage is that you are able to relax quickly and the pressure on any specific body part is not as prolonged, therefore pain from working on a specific area is reduced.  Both forms of massage provide many of the same benefits such as relaxation, easing muscle and joint pain and increasing circulation.  Both forms of massage can provide anywhere from light pressure for a relaxing massage to very hard pressure for more of a deep tissue massage.

Will Aqua Massage replace my massage therapist, chiropractor, or physical therapy visit? >> Many people find that Aqua Massage can be a perfect complement to other forms of treatment, simply due to the full body massage and the convenience aspect.  Other people may prefer Aqua Massages to other treatments, due to the privacy and no touching aspects.  Many Massage Therapists utilize Aqua Massage to loosen your body up prior to your “hands on” massage experience, therefore causing less strain on the Massage Therapist’s body. Aqua massage is a great way to stay relaxed in between massages from a massage therapist.  It is also a great inexpensive and quick option to try shortly before or after a treatment with a massage therapist, chiropractor, or physical therapist.  It can help your muscles relax and prepare for these other forms of treatment.  Aqua Massage can also soothe muscles that may be sore after fitness or athletic workouts or one of these other forms of treatment.

Is Aqua Massage beneficial for the more, mature person? >> Definitely!  Aqua massage helps with many of the aches and pains anyone of any age experiences.  We have many customers who say regular Aqua Massage really helps relieve their back and joint pain. One 82-year old woman who experienced and enjoyed Aqua Massage stated that it was the “best butt massage” she’d ever had!  Patients with heart conditions and Pacemakers enjoy increased circulation with Aqua Massage.  Let’s face it, in today’s hectic world, everyone can use an Aqua Massage to relax, relieve stress and boost moods.

What if I’m Claustrophobic? >> You may still be able to enjoy an Aqua Massage if you are claustrophobic.  Please let us know if you are claustrophobic and we will work with you!  Your head is out of the machine when you experience your Aqua Massage and this may help your claustrophobic feelings.  Also, listening to relaxing music with an aromatic scent serves as another means of relaxation during your Aqua Massage experience.  Also, we’re happy to allow you a couple trial runs with the canopy of the machine closed, but with the water not running, to let you get used to the feeling.  The first couple times you use the machine, we can stay in the room with you; the idea, that someone is there, may help ease your concerns.

If these methods don't work, don't push yourself.  We'd rather lose your business than have you feel uncomfortable during your massage.  You can still buy some products from our hand held massage items in our retail area to help you relax at home!  

Do Men like Aqua Massage? >> Yes, they do!  In fact many men may be more apt to try an Aqua Massage rather than a traditional massage because:

Can I experience an Aqua Massage? >> Virginia Aqua Massage cannot answer that for you.  We are happy to discuss it with you.  It’s best to consult with your doctor, if you are unsure whether you can have an Aqua Massage.  Please visit our “Did You Know” area to learn about the benefits of massage for increasing circulation, reducing stress and improving moods.   If your doctor says receiving a traditional, manual massage is fine then an Aqua Massage is fine.  There are many different pressure settings from high to low on the Aqua Massage machine so it can be set to suit your body’s need.
